What does the $1600 cover?
- For DUI cases in any District or Municipal Court in King, Pierce or Snohomish County, the $1600 fee covers court representation through the pretrial hearing and at the Department of Licensing hearing.
- If your DUI case is not resolved at the pretrial hearing, then an additional $1800 fee will cover continued representation through suppression motion hearings and at trial.
What are my options in the court case?
- Plea Bargain: If you want to seek a compromise, then Mr. Martin will negotiate for the best offer that the prosecuting attorney is willing to make.
- Deferred Prosecution: If you choose to volunteer for an alcohol treatment program, then Mr. Martin will ask the court to dismiss the DUI case in exchange.
- Trial: If you want to fight the case all the way, then Mr. Martin will represent you through trial.
What are my options regarding the Department of Licensing?
- If you don’t do anything, then your driver’s license will be suspended automatically.
- If you request a hearing within 20 days and you pay the $200 Department of Licensing filing fee, then Mr. Martin can appeal the suspension of your license at a Department of Licensing hearing.
